We came to eat a nice seafood dinner and boy were we disappointed! The clam chowder tasted like evaporated milk! The halibut fish & chips was very burnt, greasy & WAY over-seasoned. The story was the same with the calamari, not to mention the portion size vs cost was ridiculous! Better find a cook that: A) knows how to cook basic seafood items and B) knows when to change their grease. Good luck. We went here for dessert. The blueberry chunk cheesecake was amazing! It was a big portion (well worth the price), but wasn't overly sweet or rich. Plus, they used fresh blueberries instead of canned. Our waiter was also very friendly. Our waiter wasn't horrible, but he never checked on us, we had to go out of our way to find him so he could; get us water, get our check, get our food. He was never around. The food was okay. But if you're paying $20+ for halibut and chips, you don't want to be still full when your done eating. The fries were super oily and flimsy. The only reason it got 2 stars, is because the drinks were strong which is a plus! But I won't ever have the desire to eat here again... Nice, cozy atmosphere sitting at the old wood bar and quiet too! The bartender/manager was very friendly. I highly recommend the crab legs and baked potatoes. Entrees were EXTREMELY overpriced, even for Alaska tourist season standards. We ended up just having appetizers and drinks because of that reason. The calamari was disappointing. Piddly little pieces that looked like they just came to the restaurant frozen. I really liked this place when it was Cristo's, but the way it is now leaves a lot to be desired. Only good part was the gal behind the bar was real nice, and she made a pretty good Bloody Mary.
