My son and I had just got off our Kenai Fjords boat tour and were walking back to our hotel at the Harbor 360 and walked right by Ray's. We took a quick look at the menu and decided to try it. My son ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon and I ordered the Halibut/Cod combo, we decided to split each other's entree and each of us had a fiesta of varieties of fish and they were all wonderful! I didn't think I liked salmon since I thought it was a strong fish, but the cedar plank and preparation they used, it was delightful and I would have it again! The halibut and cod were fried, but to perfection, and very tasty. Eat here, you'll love it! Came here late in the evening at the end of the week. Staff seemed really busy and there was a wait but they were friendly and accommodating. Ended up getting great seats with views of the docks. The cedar plank salmon and rib eye steak were both fantastic. We'll established in Seward for a reason... Decent food and service. Dated structure a good bit shy of "quaint." A very impressive wine selection and gorgeous view from most all seats, but 3 stars due to overly high costs. $31 for seafood pasta which lacked much seafood. Staff was rude. My salmon was dry. My husband had the cioppino and was brought a plate for the mussel and clam shells. That would have been great if he had gotten a single mussel or clam. The new dish came out really quickly, which was nice, but also a little worrisome (there was no way they steamed fresh clams and mussels, but we guessed maybe they have those ready. After dinner, we stayed around town for a few hours, then began our 90 minute drive to our lodging. That's when his severe stomach pains hit. With all the bathroom breaks, our drive took well over 4 hours. Can we be sure he got food poisoning at Ray's? No, but since I was fine and dinner at Ray's was the only time we had eaten different foods all day, I thinks it's a pretty safe bet The view was awesome, the wait staff very friendly, the menu was extensive and they ran Lunch specials. My meal was great my sister did not enjoy her's. Great place for a romantic Summer evening dinner and drinks. I will be back.
