I am in Seward two or three times a year. I have eaten at most of the restaurants in town. Alaska Seafood Grill is by far the best in Seward! It is now my choice for my guests and I. When you walk in your appetite goes wild looking at the menu , seeing all the choices, glancing at what others are eating, and the aroma of good food. I like seafood and have eaten the calamari, shrimp, chowder, and halibut. On our last visit my wife loved their tacos, she gave one taco to me and I shared my fries with her. Our grandchildren love all the children's selection including the always popular chicken nuggets. Pizza, hot dogs, and burgers were part of the children choices too. This is truly the first time I have had everyone walk away loving what they ordered in Seward, as a grandfather that's your main objective! A lot of places are adult oriented or child, Alaska Seafood Grill obviously has given a lot of thought to creating a family menu and atmosphere. Stopped here for a quick bite after getting off of a glacier cruise. Seems to be pretty popular as there were quite a few diners and a sizeable line. The wait to order was not too bad, though. Being in Seward, I expect to pay more than I usually do for lunch in Anchorage but I paid about $40 for a two burgers and fries lunch. They have outdoor seating which is nice but Seward lately seems to be plagued by some sort of large flies which thankfully left us alone as we dined outside. The wait to actually get food was pretty long after ordering, as it took a little over 20 minutes. We ordered a fish and chips basket and a fish sandwich. It was pretty pricey and the good was not the best. The condiment packages on the side section were old and dirty. I picked up a packet of mustard that had hardened almost to a black color. The folks were nice and the location is convenient. But I'd skip it if I were in town again. Our experience was great. We have a gluten allergy and our server Melissa was so awesome to recommend the best dishes. Many options for us. The fish and chips were the best I have had. The oysters were to die for. Great service and so helpful! I would highly recommend this place! After seeing all the Salmon running in the Alaskan rivers and Seward I decided to order some Salmon and Sweat Potato Chips. The chips were no the best and tyhe Salmon tasted bad - it was very red coloured flesh. It was not a fillet cut but instead looked like it was torn from the fish. Cost was more than a good sit down restaraunt so not impressed. The cook serving there couldn't care less. Had a very bad attitude.
