I highly recommend Seward Ocean Excursions! I was very impressed about how friendly and helpful Bixler was. The personal service I we received let me know we made the right choice when it came to selecting a wildlife boat tour. Capt Bixler was very knowledgeable and friendly and Missing Lynx is a great little boat for a small group, toasty warm inside even when the winds picked up. Highly recommended! We went out for the afternoon (Four of us + Bixler) and he showed us some of the most beautiful waterfalls and landscapes, explained the rock formations, and then brought us to see many different types of marine birds, sea lions, Dahl Sheep, and went on a hunt for whales! It was a great way to spend the afternoon. The boat is cozy and has a clean, heated cabin. I highly recommend touring with Bixler over any of the big boat tours! Had an amazing trip with Seward Ocean Excursions! Would highly recommend this option versus the big boat companies. Personal attention and flexibility. The captain was very knowledgeable about the area and the environment. I was looking for a much smaller boat to tour the area around Seward than the hoards on the big boats and Seward Ocean Excursions was the best option. Bixler chucked the standard job and went for it, buying his own boat and providing a variety of services, including tours. He is very energetic and knowledgeable of the area. With time, his business will mature into a "go to" service. There were two of us for two days on the water and saw Humpback and Fin Whales, a pod of Orcas, puffins and beautiful scenery. Being an experienced photographer, I have snorkeled with and spent many hours with Humpbacks in Alaska and the Caribbean so am spoiled. I also have visited Telegraph Cove, BC for Orcas, so am spoiled in that regard as well. Although the opportunity for outstanding photographs was limited, it had nothing to do with our great guide. For an intimate experience of Kenai Fjords, you can't go wrong.
