Absolutely gorgeous location! Perfect distance from Seward to be secluded but still have easy access to groceries, or souvenir shopping Cabins were very nice recently remodeled . Very quaint and snug. My wife selected this location for it's proximity to the lake and the highway. I had a pretty grand image of the place before we got there. Much to my surprise, it was actually quite quaint. 10 slots with a mix of full / water-elec hookups. The facilities were immaculate. I mean incredibly maintained. The toilet area was better kept than some homes I've been in. Spotless! A short walk took us to the train track to see the passenger train that passed 6 times a day. The little ones loved it - and apparently the passengers of the train did as well as they eagerly waved back! Further down the path took us to the cabins, kids play area and picnic area on the lakefront. Along with a table, were two paddle boats and two kayaks which were all free to use - first come, first serve. The camp host were friendly (albeit a little skittish). Gary, the manager of the site, was excellent and very friendly/welcoming. He was a pleasure to talk to. Finally, there is a great trail across the highway; Victor Creek Trail. It's about 2 hours in and has great views once you get high enough. It was manageable for my 2 year old (for limited spurts) with good botanical variety, waterfalls (tiny), and great views. Quaint and beautiful lakeside location. The cabins are clean and include a small kitchen area. Only issue is that you have to head over to the lobby cabin to get WiFi and the speed even there is slower than 2G. Considering there is no cellular network in the area, a good WiFi connection throughout the property is a must have. It's also slightly expensive for the facilities provided. Great campground run by a fantastic staff! Quiet, clean, and just far enough out of town! Amazing views. Great for roasting marshmallows.
