Awesome day of fishing! Phil and John know what they are doing and are a lot of fun to fish with. Best time ever. You'll be glad you went with them. Put your rod in, pull a fish out. Sometimes just that fast! Go with a great Capt, see animals on the way out to the fishing spots, have a great day, and send home your fish! Our best day on the water in AK!! The 6 person boats that Alaskan summertime runs are definitely the way to go. Avoid the masses that crowd on the bigger boats they may be cheaper but you don't get the same experience. I've been fishing 5 times with this company. It was always a blast, and I always brought home fish usually my limits worth. Great customer service and personable captains made fishing with summertime charters a joy. Highly recommended, especially if you are have a group of 4-6 guys you practically have the whole boat to yourselves! Our group of four went with Jon in early August, 2014. The water was rough, and there was some concern that we couldn't get out to the good fishing area, but Jon did get us out to a good spot. My brother immediately hooked up with a 141 pound halibut. We all caught out limit of 2 halibut, along with some rock fish and salmon. I think we had the catch of the day, and after processing, we had about 40 pounds of filets apiece. Jon and his deckhand were both very professional and entertaining, and we would definintely go out with him again. Sam and I, along with four friends chartered with Alaskan Summertime Charters - Captain Jon and boat mate Jeramy on 7/20/13. We asked for halibut only trip and Captain Jon and jeramy worked hard to give us the best trip. We not only ended up with our catch, we only got two chickens. The rest ranged up to about 80 pounds. Well worth it! Also caught one big lingcod and red snapper. Newer boat - new, light equipment. Great weather helped. We were one of the 'good' catch boats of the day. with people swarming at the dock to check it out. Whales, porpoise, puffins all seen on the way. Want to do that again!
