I gave this guy a deposit of 250.00 on may 1st 2017 for a drop of at a forest service cabin on Montague Island and was assured that he had been there and that the trip would be no problem.On July 15th jim sent me an e-mail saying that the weather was bad this year and that my trip the 1st week in September had to be cancelled.So this guy could actually predict the weather seven weeks in advance!.I would not trust this guy to drive around the parking lot.I was told that the refund would take 30 DAYS!Do not book with this guy under any circumstances.If I could give ) stars I would. Mr. Craig runs an excellent establishment. Was unexpectedly visiting the area, and was looking for some local flying experience. Stopped by and chatted with Jim, and started to understand (I'm a lower-48 pilot) his passion for AK flying. Spent a couple days for the wx to lift. Did a local flight in his SuperCub, and the only regret was I wished we had more time (wx and my other commitments). As a CFI/CFII/MEI, I really valued his input. I'm primarily an IFR-focused pilot, but his comments and help exposed me to a facet of aviation I didn't really appreciate, until today. The stick-and-rudder, VFR flying, that is necessary in Alaska doesn't receive the appreciation it deserves! VERY HIGHLY recommended for anyone in the Seward area looking for tailwheel or off-airport training. For those looking for local air tours... Absolute highest recommendation! You will not regret it... Kind, humble, knowledgeable pilot. Really made us feel welcome (and knew when to stop talking and just let us take in the view).
