The positive things about this motel was it's location to downtown and the Sea Life Center. The management was very nice and accommodating. But the rooms themselves were outdated and not 100% clean. This place needs a lot of work and upgrades inside and outside; including paint, bathroom and kitchen upgrades and newer furniture. The beds were comfortable. I don't think I will be staying here again. For the money you pay, I feel you can find a newer hotel in Seward to stay in. We booked 2 of their largest rooms for 9 of us. 1 of our rooms is $10 more expensive than the other one but it has bigger, nicer bathroom & the room is slightly better, too. It's room #1 or 2 (sorry i don't remember). The cheaper room is across from it. These rooms are away from the office, very quiet; they are outdated but clean, towels are thick & clean, beds are comfortable. Walking distance to downtown. We catched Seward free shuttle across from the hotel. This shuttle goes around the town & stops at many places including Safeway supermarket & Seward harbor. Overall, the hotel meets our expectations & would return This isn't the best hotel, but it isn't the worst either. If you are looking for a overnight stay after a long hike, this is the place to go. The beds are soft and appears clean, but the whole place is quite run down. If luxury is one of your priorities, don't look towards this direction. It's a really lousy place to stay, I would recommend you to stay at another motel rather than this one, or worse sleep in your car. Mold, smelly, old furniture, pieced together kitchen, add on bedroom, doors are recycled. Dilapidated dwelling. First impression was a run down outside needing paint and repairs. Second impression was an aquarium in the office with green water so bad you could only see the fish when they swam next to the glass. Third impression was an out of date room with wavy squeeky floors. Fourth impression was taking a shower and feeling like any moment I may fall through the shower floor. The plastic shower felt like there was no support undernieth. Couch is uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid it.
