One of the best place to stay in Seward. The campground has everything you need to hookup like the sewer to empty the dump and it has electricity and water running in the same spot and it's not very pricy for everything they offer there is another camp spot it's the same price but not everything that this campground has! The employess are kind and nice and it has a outstanding customer service Too! I will recommended it! David was very nice & helpful! The campground was everything we needed. Full hook ups for our RV. Free showers, free wi-fi & they also have laundry. Showers only available before 7pm, after that your only choice was a mobile toilet that seen on construction sites. When you talk to the owner, she won't even bother to move her eyes from her phone. Not good In this area, Bear Creek Park is a nice place to stay. Just a few minutes drive from Seward, away from the traffic. It's quiet at night, and the place is relatively clean. The best part, are the owners, Lynn and Dave. Easy to make reservations. I inquired by email and got a prompt email response. Very helpful and good to deal with. Even met the children of the owner and his friends. Good kids. They showed me a fishing creek and offered to take me to the lake for Dolly Varden fishing. It's combination gravel and grass. Rural RV campground, but safe and quiet. Could not ask for more. Also met interesting RV people from Missippi, Florida and even Switzerland. Friendly campers, but not intrusive. They leave you alone if you want it that way. They'll say hello, and chat if you are so inclined. There are showers available for campers, but have not seen them, because we showered in our RV, more convenient. There is a small inventory of miscellaneous things that you can buy from the house to supplement your supplies. They sell wood, if you want ot build a fire or cook over a fire. Good hookups - no problems there. The place has Wifi, but like most Alaska rural area Wifi, it may not be as reliable as the Wifi in urban areas. If it's down, it's probably not something the location site can do something about. No Wifi problems while we were at Bear Creek. We had Wifi problems in other areas in Alaska where we stayed, but that was probably just like the nature of internet reliability in most rural areas. RVs are parked side by side, like most commercial RV camps, but not too close. Picnic table between each space. Enough room to grill. We grilled mainly while we were her without our salmon/rockfish catch. We stayed here a total of 5 days (with a Denali trip in between). We're from Virginia, and this is our first RV trip to Alaska (Yes, I have seen other uncomfortable and horrid RV places, which made me appreciate Bear Creek RV park). I would highly recommend this RV park if you're in Seward as an RV or tent-camper. It's not a vacation ground where you have enterainment amenities for the kids or fancy showers, but it's a good campsite ground from which you can go to see other things. While you're in Seward, don't miss the Sea Life Center for the family tour. If you're not an experienced fishermen, the charter fish trips are good for salmon, halibut and rockfish. We used the Fish House charters, but I'm sure there are plenty of good ones. We caught silver salmon and rockfish, which we grilled at Bear Creek camp.l For those who like to rent DVDs, the place to rent DVDs is the Safeway, just slightly outside of downtown Seward. Seward is a good place to take the family from the campground. Restaurants, ice cream and bakery shops, and others. This trip, we flew to the arctic for Sheefishing and visit Alaskan Eskimo villages. Flew to Anchorage and took the RV to Seward, Denali, back to Seward, and now we're heading to Chugach and then to Anchorage. The most days we stayed in one place was at Bear Creek RV park because we came to Seward twice. Don't miss the shuttle bus tour in Denali. Twice, we saw a bear with two cubs, a herd of over 20 Dall sheeps, a herd of carribou, a small pack of wolves, foxes and moose. No guarantee you will see anything in the wild, but the best time to go is early morning shuttle before 8:00 because the animals are out in the morning. By noon, they are hiding in the shade, and you may not see as much as you would see in the morning. The thrilling ride in the high mountain cliffs was unexpected, and a bonus. Mt. Denali was 75% visible due to clouds, but magnificent anyway. Hope this helps.
