So, right after my husband and his friends got on the boat to go fishing this morning, I got into my husband's truck to drive home.. The check engine light came on, and it's a Sunday in Seward, so there were no mechanic shops open. I did a google search and found Eddy's shop, google didn't say it was closed, so I gave them a call. Eddy had his personal cell number listed on his voicemail, so I sent a quick text apologizing for bothering him on the weekend, but asking if he would be able to read the code on the truck before I drove back to Anchorage. (There is a Napa in town, but they don't have a code reader any more) He wrote back right away, and offered to meet me at his shop in 30 minutes! I drove over there, and he pulled up a few moments after. He treated me like you'd expect a dad would, super friendly and helpful. He made sure that I knew what was wrong and gave me a quick tutorial on what would probably need to happen to fix it so that I could relay it to my husband. I know very little about cars, but he didn't try to cheat me at all or anything like that. (I have had some bad mechanics in the past) He reassured me that I would be fine to make it home, it was just a little sensor that was acting up. So very thankful for the peace of mind! On top of that, he sent me a text after I got home to make sure that I had made it alright. If I EVER need anything done on a vehicle while I'm in Seward, I know where I will go. Eddy is a great mechanic and has all the equipment he needs to do his job. I needed a fuel pump replaced and that is a job in itself requiring fuel tank, etc.. to be removed and lowered. Emptying the tank of fuel and putting it all back. Great Job :) knows his stuff....great mechanic
