Great shop. My bike always comes out nice from Ron's work shop. The trin car has almost anything you could need for an Alaskan bike ride. Actually now that I think about it, 90% of my gear came from this shop (less rain gear, actual bike and shoes). Highly recommended. Ron really knows local trails. He had ridden lost lake the day before so could tell me exactly what the conditions were like. Rented a Kona hard tail from him and took it up to lost lake. Had an amazing time. Wonderful little bike shop. If you're not an expert on bikes the staff is patient and helpful. If you are a fanatic who talks and builds bikes constantly, ask for Ron when you stop by. The man knows his fat bikes and has good inside knowledge on industry trends. He is also a wealth of knowledge of where to take your fattie. Prices here are extremely reasonable - especially for being located in Seward, AK. Staff is Knowledgeable and friendly. Services are spot on. And the shop is located in a smashing little train car by the ocean. What more can you want out of a bike shop? I needed a few accessories for my mountain bike while visiting Seward. The staff was extremely courteous, helpful and informed. When the bike bag I bought didn't quite fit, they cheerfully swapped it out for a new (and more expensive) bag at no charge. The staff even installed it with a smile. While I was there a mom and daughter came in and asked about bike chains. Although they were unsure what they needed, the staff very pleasantly and patiently talked with them about what they might need and when to bring in the bike to be serviced. My impression - in this world of shrinking customer service - is that Seward Bike Shop is all about service. Plus, they are in a train car and the owner helped develop that property at the harbor. I can't say enough great things. Support local and go to Seward Bike Shop for all your bike needs, including rentals! Bikeshop Ron is super knowledgeable about local trails, (as in up to the week conditions because he spends so much time out on them.) He does great work, sells quality materials, and listens to NPR so you know he's smart.
