As a local and former tour guide I just LOVE this place. They do such a good job with education and rehabilitation while maintaining a moral business model. They cover everything you need to know about Alaska marine and coastal life. I learn something new every time I go and always bring my friends and family here when they visit. All the staff are very helpful and willing to engage and converse. Very nice aquarium with lots of local sea life for viewing. Great touch tank with lots of fun species's to touch. There are a lot of employees and volunteers to answer all types of questions, I found the personal to be very well educated on their area and willing to share information. Great customer service. Gift shop is less expensive then I would have expected. Wheelchairs available. Clean, nice restrooms. Overall, nice experience, but a little pricey. They do give a 10% AAA discount. A great aquarium right on beautiful Resurrection Bay (we even saw a wild sea otter from their observation deck!). Well done exhibits, a touch tank and more. I personally loved the sea bird exhibit. While the price may seem steep to some, this is a research and rehabilitation facility as well, so I would assume a portion of the funds go to support their wildlife various programs. That's a positive use of money in my book and dollars well spent. This place is a must if visiting Seward. It is educational and great for kids. It has less displays than other aquariums that we have been to, but it's still a great place. Loved it, loved it, loved it! Well worth the trip from Anchorage. Or from Fairbanks, for that matter! Pay the extra for a "behind-the-scenes tour" to feed the puffins or pet the seal or hang out with the octopus. Magnificent experience! If you can get there while the baby walrus is still there, DO IT!
